An investigation has been conducted into a video circulating online that allegedly shows a Russian soldier firing a grenade launcher at civilian infrastructure in Sudzha. The Acting Governor of the Kursk Region, Alexander Khinshtein, addressed the situation on his Telegram channel following the emergence of the video.

The individual in the video has been identified as a junior sergeant from the 158th military commandant’s office. According to Khinshtein, military authorities and the military prosecutor’s office were immediately contacted upon seeing the video.

The junior sergeant is deceased, having died in a car accident while fleeing from the State Traffic Inspectorate in early June. This information was shared by Khinshtein, who also included a photo purportedly showing the aftermath of the accident.
