A widespread internet outage affected users of the “Electronic City” provider in Novosibirsk on the evening of June 8. Residents reported that their internet service was down, and the provider’s application was also malfunctioning.

The issue appears to be significant, as one customer was informed by support staff of a “massive problem with the switches.”

While the downdetector website indicated only minor issues with the internet provider in Novosibirsk, numerous complaints from residents about internet problems continued to surface in the comments sections of online platforms.

NGS, a local news outlet, contacted the press service of “Electronic City” for an official statement on the situation. The company responded that they were currently investigating the cause of the outage and gathering more information.

This incident follows a similar operational failure that occurred at the beginning of May, when another Novosibirsk internet provider, “Sibseti,” experienced a massive outage that lasted for two days.
