The International Festival of Puppet and Synthetic Theaters “KUKART-XVII” will take place from June 22nd to June 30th, offering a diverse program of puppet performances and educational events. The festival, a long-standing tradition since 1993, serves as a platform for promoting puppet theater to audiences of all ages.
This year’s edition will showcase productions from renowned Russian theaters, including troupes from Murmansk, Moscow, and numerous other cities across the country. In addition to Russian talent, the festival will feature international performances from countries such as China, Iran, Uzbekistan, Mexico, Brazil, Kazakhstan, and Belarus.
The festival’s program includes traditional stage performances, interactive platforms, meetings, master classes, a vibrant club program, and the special project “Petrushkas on Nevsky,” which will take place from June 24th to 29th on Nevsky Prospekt. Notably, all screenings are free to the public, though registration is required.
The anniversary season of 2025 will center around the theme of the Great Victory. The festival aims to foster an exchange of experiences and ideas, uniting professionals and theater enthusiasts from various generations.
