An art object called “Falcon,” created by Arutyun Akobyan, will be installed in the village of Novosergievka, Zenevskoye urban settlement, after winning a competition. The Aquilon Group organized the competition with the support of the Union of Artists and the Committee on Urban Planning Policy of the Leningrad Region, seeking the best sketch for an art object in this location.
The competition, which had a total prize fund of 1 million rubles, was conducted in two stages. A total of 36 works were submitted, with five finalists.
Contestants were asked to develop their submissions around themes such as attractions, historical events, notable people of the Leningrad Region, the region’s flora and fauna, and universal human values. The goal was to develop both an art object design and a concept for improving the area around Novosergievka.
Nikolai Dorofeev, Chief Operating Officer of the Aquilon Group, stated that “Novosergievka is actively being built up, and the new art object is designed to become its ‘heart’, a place of strength and attraction.” He added that developers are increasingly focusing on landscaping and concept development, including sculptural compositions and small architectural forms, and that creative competitions help developers discover new talent and provide authors with opportunities to establish themselves.
The object “Infinity,” created by Evgenia Pavlyuchenko, Mikhail Popov, and Mikhail Bolvin, won second place. Meiram Baimukhanov and Evgeny Cherepakhin’s sculpture project “Girl” came in third.
