In Yekaterinburg, Love Ends with Gunshot and Criminal Charges

A Yekaterinburg man is facing criminal charges after allegedly shooting his girlfriend in the knee during a dispute. The incident has led to charges of illegal weapon possession and causing grievous bodily harm.

Vitaly L. is currently in pre-trial detention, facing a potential prison sentence of up to ten years. According to sources, Vitaly was in a relationship with Anastasia (name changed), who is older than him.

The shooting occurred during a car ride in winter when, amidst a disagreement, Vitaly allegedly pulled out a gun and shot Anastasia in the leg. After the incident, Vitaly reportedly took Anastasia to the hospital and attempted to dissuade her from reporting the crime to the police.

However, medical professionals, upon discovering the gunshot wound, alerted law enforcement. Initially, Anastasia was hesitant to press charges against Vitaly.

Later, following another dispute and the realization that her injury was more severe than initially believed, Anastasia decided to cooperate with the police and provide her account of the events. This led to Vitaly being apprehended in the spring.

The Chkalovsky Court has confirmed Vitaly’s arrest and pre-trial detention.
