An investigation has been launched after a hot air balloon carrying two people drifted beyond its intended landing zone in the Novosibirsk region. The incident occurred on the evening of June 7, according to the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor’s Office.
The balloon, carrying one passenger and one pilot, landed near the village of Oktyabrsky. The landing took place at approximately 10:15 PM local time on an unprepared section of terrain in close proximity to a highway.
The West Siberian Transport Prosecutor’s Office is now investigating the incident to determine if flight safety regulations were properly followed.
This incident follows a previous event in which a helicopter from a Novosibirsk airline was forced to land in the Tomsk region.
