Two men sustained injuries in Lyubertsy, Moscow region, on June 2nd after a homemade explosive device (IED) detonated prematurely. The incident occurred in the Pticefabrika microdistrict of the Tomilino workers’ settlement.
Preliminary investigations reveal that one of the men had purchased components for the IED through an online marketplace. Law enforcement sources indicate that the components were bought on Wildberries.
The two men reportedly met after the purchase, with the intention of detonating the device in a field. However, the IED exploded before they reached their intended location.
Both men were hospitalized following the incident. Law enforcement and investigative authorities are currently on the scene.
The Moscow Regional Prosecutor’s Office has acknowledged the incident, referring to it as a “loud bang.” An official investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the explosion.
