Health Minister Warns Tourists of Oil Contamination Risks on Krasnodar Coast

Tourists in the Krasnodar Territory are being cautioned about the dangers of coming into contact with petroleum products on the region’s coastline. Beaches in Anapa and parts of the Temryuk district remain closed due to ongoing cleanup efforts.

The Minister of Health of the Krasnodar Territory, Evgeny Filippov, emphasized that these restrictions are in place to protect the health of tourists. Contact with oil and its byproducts can lead to skin irritation, allergic reactions, and respiratory problems.

Children, pregnant women, and individuals with chronic illnesses are particularly vulnerable and should exercise extra caution.

Authorities have installed warning signs on closed beaches, but some tourists are disregarding the warnings.

Health officials advise washing any skin that comes into contact with fuel oil with soap and water. Those who experience adverse reactions are urged to seek medical attention.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to adhere to the restrictions, select approved recreational areas, and stay informed about the condition of the water and beaches through official channels.

Earlier this year, Rospotrebnadzor deemed numerous beaches in Anapa and Temryuk unsuitable for summer recreation. Despite these concerns, government officials have affirmed that the summer season will proceed in those areas.
