Happy Fitness fitness club has announced it will refund all money for unused memberships following its sudden closure. The club’s administration communicated this commitment in a letter sent to Fontanka’s editorial office on June 4th. The letter did not specify a timeline for the refunds.
The club explained the abrupt closure by saying that they were “looking for a way out until the last day” and negotiating potential openings at other venues. They added that the landlord ignored their notification about extending the lease term of the fitness center. Happy Fitness stated that all money for unused memberships under the contract would be returned. The club apologized for failing to notify clients earlier.
Previously, it was reported that the club’s closure on June 3rd surprised customers, who arrived at the Happy Fitness location in the London Mall shopping center to demand refunds and retrieve belongings.
Happy Fitness attributed the communication difficulties reported by customers to “communication problems” and a blocked mailbox due to a large volume of messages. They claimed they were physically unable to respond to all inquiries in two days, and only a few members had received refunds due to the urgent move.
The club stated that all obligations to clients will be fulfilled in full, and refunds will be made according to a schedule to be announced later on the official website. The organization refuted accusations of fraud, calling them “groundless and damaging to business reputation.” The contracts with Happy Fitness customers were made with individual entrepreneurs Korol Angelika Sergeevna and Izmakova Lidia Vitalievna.
