The Happy Fitness club in St. Petersburg abruptly closed on June 1st, leaving numerous customers without refunds. Season ticket holders arrived at the London Mall location to demand compensation but found the doors locked.
Victims are seeking legal action and a criminal investigation into the closure. State Duma deputy Mikhail Romanov stated preliminary data suggests potential fraudulent activities.
According to Romanov, the club’s website indicated the landlord terminated the contract, but the mall administration claims the lease was terminated six months prior. The club allegedly knew about the closure in advance.
The club’s phones are disconnected, and its online presence has been removed. Customers report purchasing season tickets shortly before the closure and have not received refunds.
Victims have contacted Rospotrebnadzor and the prosecutor’s office and plan to file lawsuits. They are also seeking the initiation of a criminal case for large-scale fraud.
According to victims, contracts were concluded with two Individual Entrepreneurs (IP): Korol Angelica Sergeevna and Izmakova Lidia Vitalievna. It is assumed that the first is the daughter of the second.
A similar incident involving Happy Fitness II LLC occurred in 2020, when the Happy Fitness Premium fitness center closed without warning or refunds.
