A man attacked a synagogue in Sochi with a hammer on May 29th, breaking the gate but failing to enter the building. The incident occurred around 3:45 PM while children were studying inside.
The attacker, who arrived by taxi, threatened the security guard with the hammer before breaking the gate and entering the courtyard. According to the Chief Rabbi of Russia’s press service, no one inside the synagogue was injured.
The man also threw stones at the building and recorded the attack on his phone. Police arrived at the scene and detained the individual.
