A hailstorm struck Novosibirsk on the afternoon of August 1st, impacting areas like the “Yasny Bereg” residential complex. The event occurred suddenly, transitioning from calm, cloudy weather to intense rain and hail.
One resident described the rapid change, stating they had to rush to close balcony windows as visibility dropped dramatically, resembling snowfall. The precipitation briefly subsided before returning with increased intensity.
The regional Ministry of Emergency Situations had previously issued warnings for thunderstorms, showers, and strong winds throughout the Novosibirsk region.
The West Siberian Hydrometeorological Center forecasts mostly cloudy conditions with brief rain and thunderstorms. Nighttime temperatures are expected to be between +16 and +18 degrees Celsius, with winds of 3-8 m/s. Daytime temperatures are predicted to reach +27 to +29 degrees Celsius, with wind gusts up to 16 m/s.
