A person was injured on the morning of August 1st when glass fragments fell from the facade of the Alatir shopping center in Yekaterinburg, Russia. The incident occurred on the seventh floor of the building, leaving a hole in the facade.

A pedestrian walking near the shopping center was struck by the falling glass and sustained an arm injury. Security personnel provided immediate assistance, and an ambulance transported the injured individual to a hospital. Authorities have confirmed that the victim’s life is not in danger.

The area around the affected section of the shopping center has been cordoned off, restricting pedestrian access. Technical specialists are currently investigating the cause of the incident.

Eyewitnesses reported that the glass shattered into small fragments. The shopping center confirmed that a stained glass window of the exterior glazing cracked at the level of the 7th floor.

In late 2023, Asteria sold the Alatir shopping center to PIK XV LLC, a company established by SKM-Development JSC and its CEO, Alexey Falko.
