Gazprom Neft Implements Integrated Solutions Based on National Open Platform

Gazprom Neft has started implementing integrated solutions based on the national open platform for industrial automation at its enterprises, showcasing new models of digital twins for oil production processes and IT equipment synchronizers at the “Digital Industry of Industrial Russia” (CIPR-2025) conference.

The company demonstrated how the national open platform can be implemented in the oil and gas industry, developing an equipment management system for oil production, synchronizing digital twins and technical devices from more than 20 Russian manufacturers.

Based on the national platform, Gazprom Neft created new models of digital twins for oil production and an IT solution for monitoring the compliance of the physical and virtual state of equipment control systems in the oil field, integrating solutions from technology partners, including an open software controller from Severstal and Isource, an edge computing server from EuroChem, and a cybersecurity solution from Positive Technologies, all operating on the basis of Skala^r APCS.

The national open platform for industrial automation has been under development since 2023 at the initiative of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, with participation from over 50 companies and scientific organizations, aiming to become a universal standard for industrial enterprises.

According to Vasily Shpak, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the openness of the architecture and the flexible adaptation of components significantly reduce costs and accelerate the introduction of innovative solutions, increasing the competitiveness of Russian business through digitalization.

Anton Dumin, IT Director of Gazprom Neft, stated that new solutions based on the national open platform will allow turning any plant or oil field into a unified “gigapolis,” providing unified management of numerous sensors and software applications from various manufacturers.
