Crowds of people, including both Muscovites and visitors, have congregated in central Moscow, specifically Manezhnaya Square and Nikolskaya Street. This gathering coincides with street closures implemented by the city’s Department of Transport.

Security has been heightened in the area, with additional fencing and law enforcement personnel present, both armed and unarmed. The largest crowds appear to be concentrated around the “tropical corner” of Manezhnaya Square.

Several streets near Red Square are closed to vehicular traffic from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM. These closures affect Ilyinka Street (from Novaya Square to Red Square), Varvarka Street (from Staraya Square to Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge), and the passage connecting Ilyinka and Varvarka streets near building 5 on Red Square. Parking is also prohibited in these zones.

Changes have also been made to bus routes m90 and No. 538, which will not operate along Varvarka Street near Gostiny Dvor and Zaryadye Park from 6:30 AM onwards.

These measures coincide with the Russia Day holiday, which grants Muscovites a long weekend from Thursday to Sunday. During this period, from June 12th to 15th, the operating hours of Moscow’s medical institutions will be adjusted.
