A 20-year-old resident of Kerch has been detained in Crimea by the FSB on suspicion of treason for allegedly collecting and transmitting data about Russian air defense systems to Ukrainian intelligence. The Russian citizen, born in 2003, confessed to the crime and is cooperating with the investigation.

The FSB reports that the individual was allegedly working with the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR MOU). On instructions from Ukrainian handlers, the suspect photographed and filmed the locations of Russian military facilities, including air defense equipment in Crimea, and transmitted this information via Telegram.

A criminal case has been initiated against the man under the treason article, which carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison. The court has ordered him to be held in custody pending trial.

The FSB is reiterating its warning that Ukrainian special services are actively using messaging platforms like Telegram and WhatsApp to recruit individuals for sabotage and intelligence gathering. The agency states that operational activities are ongoing.

This incident follows a recent report by the FSB of preventing a terrorist attack in the Krasnodar Territory, where a young man allegedly recruited by Ukrainian special services planned to bomb an administrative building of an energy facility.
