Yekaterinburg residents and visitors will enjoy free rides on all public transportation on August 16th in celebration of City Day. Mayor Alexey Orlov announced this initiative as a gift to passengers, meaning no tickets will be required for buses, trolleybuses, trams, and the metro.

In addition to free public transport, motorists will also benefit from waived street parking fees on City Day. This allows everyone to move freely throughout the city.

The City Day celebration includes other events. Free concerts featuring star performers are scheduled, and the “Miss Yekaterinburg” competition will take place on the main stage. The winner of “Miss Yekaterinburg” will receive a trip for two to Japan.

The annual city wedding for newlyweds and a fireworks display at two locations are also part of the City Day festivities. Furthermore, prior to City Day, a large free concert featuring Dima Bilan is scheduled for August 9th in the Historical Square.
