Four young men, aged 19 to 22, have been detained in Novosibirsk on suspicion of theft. The arrests followed a coordinated effort by a private security firm and local police after a suspicious incident at a store on Lobachevskogo Street.
The events unfolded on June 5th around 11 am when a resident noticed a tinted Nissan sedan with three masked individuals entering a store. Suspecting a potential robbery, the resident contacted his friend at the “Gvardia” security firm.
Upon the arrival of the “Gvardia” response team, two suspects carrying bags filled with merchandise jumped into the Nissan, and the driver attempted to flee. “Gvardia” officers apprehended one suspect at the store exit; his bag was full of coffee packs.
The apprehended suspect confessed to a previous robbery on Kubovaya Street, where the group stole sausage, cheese, and other products. The suspects used balaclavas to conceal their identities and worked in pairs to collect and bag the stolen goods.
Law enforcement officials obtained the phone number of the suspect’s accomplices and lured them with a fake ransom demand. Two additional suspects arrived at the arranged location and were promptly arrested by police officers.
The detained individuals are residents of Novosibirsk, with addresses in “Divnogorsky” and on Zaleskogo Street. Authorities are currently investigating the possible involvement of the suspects in other store thefts within the Zayeltsovsky district.
