A foundation named “Second Chance” in honor of the late rapper Pasha Technik (Pavel Ivlev) will soon open in Moscow to provide assistance to drug addicts. The announcement was made at a press conference at the Russia Today center on June 16.
The primary goal of the foundation is to offer financial support to addicts, enabling them to access treatment courses in specialized drug rehabilitation clinics. The foundation also aims to be a platform for lectures, discussions on legislative initiatives, and collaborative projects with artists and other stakeholders addressing the issue of addiction.
Pasha Technik’s mother, Nadezhda Ivleva, emphasized the devastating impact of drug addiction on individuals and families. She recounted her son’s repeated attempts to overcome his addiction, often disrupted by performance commitments. She highlighted the need for early intervention and education for parents to recognize and address drug use among children.
Vladislav Davankov, Vice Speaker of the State Duma, shared plans for the foundation’s activities. He envisioned a space for lectures, discussions, and collaborative projects. He mentioned the immediate possibility of launching a hotline to provide information, guidance, and advice on addiction-related issues.
Eva Karitskaya (Karina Melnichuk), Technik’s ex-wife, pointed out the dangers of at-home remedies, which she believes contributed to the rapper’s death. She stated that seeking immediate professional medical help could have saved his life. She emphasized that addiction is a disease that requires proper medical intervention.
Pasha Technik passed away on April 4 in a Thai hospital at the age of 40. He had been in a coma after a suspected poisoning incident in late March. Despite efforts to raise funds for his treatment, he could not be saved. He was laid to rest on April 11 in Moscow.
