Gennady Sakharov, the former CEO of a structural subdivision of Rosatom Group, has been sentenced to 12 years in a strict regime colony for accepting a bribe. The Moscow Meshchansky District Court also sentenced Elgudzhi Kokosadze to 8 years in a strict regime colony for giving the bribe.

Both Sakharov and Kokosadze are required to pay fines of approximately 100 million rubles each, which is three times the amount of the bribe. Kokosadze was taken into custody in the courtroom following the verdict.

Sakharov had served as the Director for Capital Investments of Rosatom Group since 2010. He was arrested in May 2024 in connection with a criminal case involving bribery on a particularly large scale.
