The first Baltiets-2 train, designated model 81-725.2/726.2/727.2, has been assembled for the St. Petersburg Metro and is being prepared for transportation. These purple cars, built at the October Electric Car Repair Plant (OEVRZ), will operate on Line 5.

The train is now set to undergo final testing after its departure from the factory. The “Baltiets-2” will be transported to the “Avtovo” electric depot where it will undergo comprehensive checks of all systems and equipment in real operating conditions.

The launch of the first train is anticipated by the end of the year. The new trains will incorporate several upgrades to improve passenger comfort and functionality. These improvements include an enhanced ventilation system, improved sound insulation and electromagnetic clutches in the doors.
