A fire erupted in a warehouse building in Akademgorodok, Novosibirsk, on August 1st, prompting a response from emergency services. The incident occurred on Arbusov Street, near the Institute of Applied Physics, and was reported by witnesses who shared footage of a large column of white smoke rising from the scene.

The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Novosibirsk Region confirmed that firefighters were dispatched to the location and arrived within five minutes of the initial report. Preliminary information indicates that the fire is affecting a four-story brick warehouse.

As of now, there have been no reported casualties.

The building is registered to JSC “IPF,” a company established in 1993 and located at 1/1 Arbusov Street. The institute conducts scientific research in the field of natural and technical sciences. Konstantin Martynov was appointed director in 2023.
