The Legislative Assembly’s spring session concluded on July 29th with its 46th meeting, marking the last gathering until September 30th.
During the break, legislators will consult with residents and local authorities to identify priority issues for their respective regions and cities. These discussions will inform the allocation of funds in the 2026 budget and the subsequent two years. Speaker Lyudmila Babushkina announced the commencement of these preparations during the meeting.
Babushkina emphasized the importance of engaging with voters, listening to their proposals, and addressing systemic issues in collaboration with local governments. She urged colleagues to work diligently in the limited time available before the autumn session.
Looking back on the spring session, Babushkina highlighted the adoption of 58 regional laws across seven meetings. Social support for Ural residents received significant attention with 14 laws, while public safety was addressed through 16 laws. Additionally, 8 laws focused on fostering the development of industry, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
The speaker also noted the active investment of local enterprises in new technologies, supported by government initiatives such as tax reductions to facilitate modernization. Sverdlovsk deputies recently visited a Yekaterinburg enterprise employing blind individuals to assess the effectiveness of measures supporting the employment of people with disabilities.
