The V International Lace Festival “Vita Lace” is scheduled to take place from July 17th to 20th at the Vologda Museum-Reserve, showcasing the artistry and tradition of lace making. This year’s theme, “Heroes of Earth and Sky,” will serve as the inspiration for various events and exhibitions.
The festival will commence with a theatrical performance featuring Russian artists, setting the stage for a celebration of lace artistry.
A central highlight of the festival is the competitive exhibition titled “Man. Earth. Space,” which will feature lace creations inspired by the accomplishments of Russian cosmonautics. This exhibition promises to showcase the intricate skill and creative interpretation of lace makers.
A traditional mass lace-making event will also take place, uniting masters from across the country in a collaborative effort. Together, they will create unique lace pieces dedicated to the memory of war heroes and space pioneers.
The festival program extends beyond the central exhibition and includes diverse activities such as exhibitions of lace and jewelry, a fair offering a range of products for sale, informative master classes, engaging lectures, and guided excursions to the Lace Museum.
Another focal point will be the large-scale panel “Lace of Russia,” a collaborative piece created by skilled artisans from eight different regions of the country, showcasing the diversity and artistry within the Russian lace-making tradition.
Over 200 participants from 19 regions of Russia, including the Vologda, Moscow, and Leningrad regions, have already confirmed their attendance, demonstrating the widespread interest and participation in the Vita Lace festival.
