A fatal collision between a Volkswagen and a stationary truck occurred on the Saint Petersburg Ring Road (KAD) on the evening of June 4th, resulting in the death of the car’s driver. The accident took place on the 51st kilometer of the outer ring road, specifically in the Vsevolozhsk district.

The Volkswagen was traveling from Oktyabrskaya Embankment towards the “Kola” highway when, for reasons currently unknown, it collided with a FAF truck with a semi-trailer. The truck was stopped in a traffic jam near the exit to the “Kola” highway at the time of the incident.

The driver of the Volkswagen died at the scene of the accident. Authorities are currently working to establish the identity of the deceased.

The car went partially under the truck, reaching approximately the rear seats, according to footage shared in the “Accident and Emergency | St. Petersburg” VKontakte group. Group subscribers reported that the body was recovered from the vehicle in the early hours of the morning.

The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is currently conducting a thorough investigation into the accident. Police are actively clarifying all the circumstances leading up to the tragic event.
