A fatal car crash in St. Petersburg’s Krasnogvardeysky district on June 18th resulted in the death of one driver. The accident involved two vehicles at a busy intersection.

The collision occurred at approximately 2:30 PM at the intersection of Revolutsii Highway and Marshal Tukhachevsky Street. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Preliminary reports indicate that a 78-year-old man driving a Renault Sandero was attempting to make a left turn when his vehicle collided with an oncoming Mazda 3, driven by a 21-year-old. The impact of the collision caused significant damage to both vehicles.

The 78-year-old Renault driver died at the scene of the accident. Emergency services responded quickly, including ambulance crews, EMERCOM personnel, and traffic police officers.

Photographic evidence shows deployed airbags in both cars, and substantial damage to the passenger side of the Renault and the front of the Mazda. The investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
