A female cyclist died on May 30th after being struck by a truck in St. Petersburg’s Nevsky district. The incident occurred on Sovetsky Prospekt around 9:30 AM, according to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.

The accident happened as the truck driver was turning onto a minor road. The cyclist was reportedly hit during this maneuver.

Video footage suggests the cyclist entered the roadway from the sidewalk and attempted to brake before being struck.

Police are currently working to identify the deceased woman and investigate the full circumstances surrounding the accident. The Main Directorate confirmed the woman’s death at the scene.
