Failed Sabotage Attempt on Crimean Bridge

Traffic on the Crimean Bridge was temporarily suspended Tuesday morning due to a thwarted sabotage attempt and subsequent activity involving unmanned Ukrainian boats in the Black Sea. The bridge has since been reopened after inspections confirmed its structural integrity.

The incident occurred around 6 a.m. on June 3rd, when a protective barrier, designed to shield the bridge from various threats, was targeted. Authorities reported that the support structures of the Crimean Bridge remain undamaged and fully operational, despite the attempted attack.

Following the initial incident, maritime traffic along the Black Sea coast was also halted due to the presence of unmanned Ukrainian boats. The Crimean Bridge was temporarily closed again as a precaution.

Earlier on Tuesday morning, traffic was blocked for three hours while Russian air defense systems reportedly intercepted three UAVs over the Crimean Peninsula. After a thorough check and the elimination of the threat, traffic is expected to resume normal operations.
