An explosive device detonated on railway tracks in the Voronezh region on June 5, halting train traffic towards Yekaterinburg and other cities. The incident occurred on the 725th kilometer of the Evdakovo-Saguny section.
The FSB of Russia reported the detonation and indicated that a criminal case is likely to be initiated under the article of terrorism.
Governor Alexander Gusev stated that the train driver noticed minor damage to the track.
The Novorossiysk-Yekaterinburg train is already delayed by two hours. A passenger reported receiving an SMS notification about the delay. The train is currently stopped near Evdakovo in the Kamensky district of the Voronezh region.
There were no casualties as a result of the explosion.
Emergency services, including an emergency recovery team from the South-Eastern Railway, are at the scene.
