Aurus Senat limousine, formerly part of Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping’s motorcades, is now on display at a museum in Verkhnyaya Pyshma. The museum complex showcases a collection of government limousines, offering a glimpse into the vehicles used by leaders throughout history.
The collection includes vehicles such as the ZIS-115 of Joseph Stalin, the ZIL-111A of Nikita Khrushchev, the ZIL-114 of Leonid Brezhnev, and the ZIL-41052 of Mikhail Gorbachev. These cars occupy a special historical niche, having once served heads of state.
The ZIS-115, developed during the Great Patriotic War, was an armored limousine created for Joseph Stalin. The armored capsule of the ZIS-115 could withstand being hit from a machine gun or pistol at a distance of 25 meters, as well as a grenade explosion. A total of 55 such armored vehicles were created.
The ZIL-111A, produced starting in 1957, was equipped with air conditioning. A total of 47 such cars were produced.
The ZIL-114 was designed in the sixties of the last century and equipped with 2- and 3-speed automatics. 113 such government limousines were produced.
The armored government ZIL-41052 weighed 5.2 tons and could accelerate to 190 kilometers per hour. A total of 14 such cars were produced.
The Aurus Senat Limousine L700 is the first domestic representative and top-class car in the history of modern Russia. This all-wheel drive hybrid car is the official vehicle of the President of Russia. The car is protected according to the highest class of protection “BR5”, and can withstand a rifle bullet at a distance of 10 meters.
