Errol Musk, father of Elon Musk, lauded Moscow as a “perfect civilization” and shared his views on space exploration at the “Forum of the Future 2050” in Moscow. The 79-year-old engineer, who made his fortune in emerald mines, spoke at the event alongside Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, expressing admiration for the city.
Musk stated that Moscow “easily rivals ancient Rome” and might be “the best capital in the world,” despite warnings against traveling to Russia.
He also praised Russian President Vladimir Putin, calling him a “very impressive person” from whom to learn leadership qualities.
Musk Sr. downplayed the conflict between his son Elon and Donald Trump, suggesting their goals align in reducing the US budget deficit. He contrasted the atmosphere under President Trump with that under President Biden, claiming that Trump’s election brought about a sense of relaxation and optimism. “Trump was elected president with the help of my family. And everything changed. Everyone started smiling, everyone relaxed. 80% of the people I met from California to Texas were for Trump,” Musk Sr. said.
Regarding space exploration, Musk expressed skepticism about deep space travel until scientists fully understand gravity. He believes that current limitations make even lunar missions stressful for the human body.
