Heightened security measures are in place along Prospekt Mira in Moscow due to the celebration of Kurban Bayram. The Cathedral Mosque, a central location for the holiday, is situated in this area.
Fences were erected along Prospekt Mira overnight, stretching to the Garden Ring. Large numbers of Muslims are proceeding towards the mosque for prayers.
Law enforcement presence is significant, including police cars, National Guard units, and prisoner transport vehicles parked along the outer lanes. Security personnel are actively patrolling the street.
The “Prospekt Mira” metro stations on both the Circle and Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya lines are closed for entry until the end of the celebrations. These stations are only open for exiting and transferring passengers. Alternative entry points include nearby stations such as “Sukharevskaya”, “Tsvetnoy Bulvar”, and “Rizhskaya”. Bus routes m2 and m9 are also available as alternative transportation options.
