An S7 Airlines flight en route from Novosibirsk to St. Petersburg made an emergency landing at Koltsovo Airport in Ekaterinburg on the afternoon of June 11 due to a passenger experiencing a sudden illness.
The Koltsovo press service reported that airport medics met the aircraft and provided immediate medical assistance to the ailing passenger before transferring him to an ambulance for hospitalization. The crew decided to divert the flight to Ekaterinburg after the passenger’s health deteriorated mid-flight.
S7 Airlines confirmed that preparations were underway for the flight to resume its journey to St. Petersburg shortly. The airline’s press service stated that the plane would depart in the near future.
This incident follows similar occurrences, including a recent case where a woman from Ekaterinburg died on a flight while traveling with her family on vacation and a separate incident where a flight from Ekaterinburg to Nha Trang, Vietnam, had to make an emergency landing in Irkutsk due to a passenger falling ill.
