A 91-year-old woman from St. Petersburg has died from severe burns after an accident in her kitchen. The incident occurred while she was preparing dinner at her home in the Kalininsky district.
The pensioner was admitted to the Dzhanelidze Research Institute on May 25 with significant burns to her head and torso. She also suffered from acute heart failure. Doctors in the burn intensive care unit battled to save her life for nearly a week.
According to reports, the woman’s robe caught fire while she was cooking at the stove. Despite medical intervention, she succumbed to her injuries on the evening of June 1.
