Two elderly Pallas’s cats, Karaganda and Zelenogorsk, have been moved from public display to quieter, off-exhibit enclosures within the Novosibirsk Zoo. The decision was made due to the animals’ advanced age and resulting health concerns.

The cats, aged over 12 and 14 years respectively, require rest and are now housed in environments designed to provide them with peace and comfort. Zoo officials confirmed the move, stating that the Pallas’s cats are experiencing age-related health issues.

Zelenogorsk, particularly known for his viral video where he accidentally stepped on his tail, has been a popular figure at the zoo. Despite no longer being in the public exhibit, both cats will continue to receive close monitoring and care from zoologists and veterinarians.
