Eight Students Removed from Novosibirsk Unified State Exam for Cheating

Eight students in the Novosibirsk region have been removed from Unified State Exam (USE) rooms for violating exam regulations. According to the regional Ministry of Education, the incidents occurred since the start of the exam period.

Six students were caught with written notes, often referred to as cheat sheets. Another student was found to be in possession of a mobile phone. A final student was caught with a smartwatch, which is also a prohibited means of communication during the exam.

The Ministry of Education of Russia states that the first USE results are expected to be released next week.

According to the established USE rules, any participant found committing certain violations will be removed from the exam, and their results will be annulled. Prohibited items include mobile phones, headphones, smartwatches, cheat sheets, USB drives, and any other communication devices. Actions such as talking with other participants, sharing materials, photographing or copying exam materials, and removing drafts or exam papers from the room are also strictly forbidden. Disruptive behavior, like leaving the exam room without permission or displaying aggressive conduct, can also lead to expulsion.
