Denis Allayarov, the editor-in-chief of URA.RU’s Sverdlovsk editorial office, is facing bribery charges and a potential prison sentence of up to eight years. His pre-trial restraint is set to be determined on June 6th.
The case also involves Andrey Karpov, the head of the criminal investigation department of OP No. 10, who is accused of abuse of power and accepting a bribe. Karpov could face up to 15 years in prison.
Law enforcement officials conducted searches at the URA.RU editorial office, reportedly using a sledgehammer to gain entry. Documents and equipment were seized during the operation, according to sources.
The editorial office has released an official statement, confirming that investigators from the Investigative Committee disrupted the work of the head office. The statement emphasized that the investigation does not involve any allegations of financing doctors or similar situations.
