Drone attacks in the Belgorod and Kursk regions of Russia on the evening of June 16 resulted in injuries to civilians. Authorities reported the incidents and provided details on the victims’ conditions.
In the Belgorod region, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) allegedly struck four settlements, injuring three civilians. Vyacheslav Gladkov, the region’s governor, reported that the village of Rakitnoye in the Rakityansky district was attacked twice by drones. One strike injured a woman, who was hospitalized in Belgorod with a mine-explosive injury and barotrauma.
Another civilian was injured in the Shebekinsky district, in the village of Malomikhailovka, due to an FPV drone attack on a parked car. The man sustained non-penetrating shrapnel wounds to the head, neck, and right shoulder and was taken to the Shebekinskaya Central District Hospital.
Earlier, Shebekino was shelled, resulting in the death of a civilian who was struck by a shell at a commercial facility. Another man injured in the Shebekino shelling was diagnosed with a mine-explosive injury and barotrauma at the Shebekinskaya Central District Hospital.
In the Kursk region, a Ukrainian drone struck a field near the village of Goncharovka, Sudzhansky district, injuring a woman who was milking a cow. Alexander Khinshtein, the acting governor of the Kursk region, stated that the woman sustained a mine-explosive injury and shrapnel wounds to her right leg. She was taken to the Kursk Regional Hospital in serious condition.
