Ukrainian UAVs targeted Russia on the night of June 6, causing damage and disruption. In Engels, a residential building and an industrial enterprise suffered damage, with a fire breaking out at the latter, according to Governor Roman Busargin.
Moscow airports experienced temporary closures as a result of the drone attacks. Domodedovo, Zhukovsky, and Vnukovo airports implemented restrictions. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that several drones were destroyed, and emergency services are responding to debris fall locations.
Governor Busargin stated that there were no immediate reports of casualties in Engels, and that all relevant services are working to address the situation. Specialists are taking necessary steps to mitigate the aftermath of the attack.
Authorities have issued guidelines for citizens who encounter a drone. The primary action is to immediately contact emergency services at 112. When reporting a drone sighting, individuals should provide their name, address, a description of the drone’s appearance and behavior (hovering or flying, silhouette, flashing lights), and any sounds it is making.
Citizens are also advised to leave the area where a drone is detected and warn others nearby if possible. If a drone is found on the ground, individuals should not approach or touch it under any circumstances. Instead, they should call 112 to report the discovery.
