A 35-year-old driver involved in a road rage incident in the Vsevolozhsky district of the Leningrad region has been detained and found to be driving under the influence without a license, and his vehicle contained a combat grenade.
The man was apprehended on May 30 at the entrance to Kudrovo after a video surfaced online showing him engaged in a fistfight with a taxi driver. The altercation stemmed from a road dispute on May 29 when the taxi driver allegedly did not allow the Chevrolet driver to pass on a narrow road.
Upon stopping the vehicle, traffic police officers observed signs of drug intoxication in the driver. Further investigation revealed that he did not possess a valid driver’s license. He was sent for a medical examination and will subsequently be taken to the police station.
Two female passengers in the car also exhibited signs of drug intoxication and were taken to the department to be held administratively liable for drug use. A search of the vehicle uncovered an F-1 combat grenade, prompting a call to the National Guard.
The detained driver told police that the taxi driver’s “inhumane” behavior, which included allegedly cutting him off and speaking rudely, provoked his reaction. Authorities are currently deciding whether to initiate a criminal case based on the incident.
