A 26-year-old man from a neighboring country was apprehended in Verkhnyaya Salda after leading police on a dangerous car chase. The incident occurred on the night of June 14th, when traffic police officers on Rayonnaya Street attempted to stop a Toyota sports car.

The driver ignored the police demand to halt, instead accelerating and attempting to flee. This initiated a pursuit during which the driver engaged in reckless maneuvers, including driving on sidewalks and lawns, endangering pedestrians.

The fleeing driver narrowly missed pedestrians on a local alley and drove through a flower bed at high speed. The pursuit ended when the driver stopped abruptly on Voronov Street and tried to escape on foot, but was apprehended.

The driver did not possess a driver’s license and was in Russia illegally. The vehicle’s owner, the driver’s cohabitant, has been summoned to the police station and may face administrative charges for allowing an unlicensed individual to drive her car.

Following the arrest, multiple protocols were issued against the driver, including disobeying police officers, refusing a medical examination for intoxication, and failing to stop the vehicle. The man is now facing deportation from Russia.

The violator has been taken to court and the Toyota has been impounded.
