Krugets, an Alabai dog who captured hearts with his remarkable 50 kg weight loss journey but never found a permanent home, has died. The “Sostradanie NN” shelter announced his passing on July 31, leaving volunteers and supporters heartbroken.

The shelter reported that Krugets died peacefully in a hospital, despite the medical team’s efforts to save him. The sudden turn of events shocked everyone involved in his care. According to the shelter, his condition deteriorated rapidly the day before his death.

When volunteers initially discovered Krugets, he weighed nearly 100 kg. The dog had been living in a yard where he was overfed to the point of immobility. Through the dedicated care of specialists and volunteers, Krugets successfully shed approximately 50 kg, bringing his weight down to 55 kg.

The shelter had been actively seeking a loving home for Krugets since May of the previous year. Despite his inspiring transformation and the tireless efforts of the “Sostradanie NN” shelter, Krugets was unable to find a forever family before his untimely death.
