Vladislav Loginov, the Mayor of Krasnoyarsk, was detained on the morning of June 9th on suspicion of accepting a particularly large bribe. Searches are currently underway at the city administration.

The central office of the Investigative Committee of Russia is handling the case.

Sources within law enforcement and the Krasnoyarsk administration have confirmed the detention.

Neither the regional department of the Investigative Committee, the Krasnoyarsk regional government, nor the mayor’s office have issued official comments regarding the situation.

The detention occurred despite Loginov’s public appearance just the day before, June 8th, during City Day celebrations, where he presented a bouquet to singer Pelageya.
