A 39-year-old man has been detained in the Altai Territory on suspicion of attempting to abuse a 15-year-old girl. The incident took place on May 27 in the Kytmanovsky district.

The man allegedly attacked the girl and attempted to abuse her, but her father intervened, preventing the act.

The perpetrator then attempted to hide and threatened police officers with a knife upon their arrival.

A police officer fired a warning shot into the air before shooting the man in the leg after he continued to advance with the knife. This action was taken in accordance with the law “On the Police” due to the man’s aggressive behavior.

The man was apprehended and received medical attention for his leg wound.

A criminal case has been initiated against the man, though the specific charges have not yet been disclosed.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has not released information regarding the condition of the girl involved.
