Death of Theater and Cinema Actor Konstantin Shelestun at Age 50

Konstantin Shelestun, a theater and cinema actor known for his work at the Small Drama Theater (NDT) and roles in TV series like “Gangster Petersburg,” has died at the age of 50. The date and location of the memorial service will be announced later.

Shelestun was a graduate of the St. Petersburg State Academy of Theater Arts. He joined the NDT shortly after graduating, under the invitation of director Lev Erenburg, with his debut role being Bubnov in “The Lower Depths.”

Throughout his career at the NDT, Shelestun played numerous notable roles, including Ivanov in “Ivanov,” Vershinin in “Three Sisters,” Fyodor Karamazov in “The Brothers Karamazov,” and Porfiry Golovlev in “Gentlemen of the Damned.” One of his most recent performances was as Dr. Diafoirus in “The Imaginary Invalid.”

In addition to his theatrical work, Shelestun appeared in films and television series, often taking on smaller, yet memorable roles. His filmography includes appearances in “Gangster Petersburg – 4” (Prisoner), “Lethal Force,” and “Streets of Broken Lights.” Despite his ventures into film and television, he remained committed to the theater.
