Natalya Tenyakova, People’s Artist of Russia and widow of Sergei Yursky, has died at the age of 80. She passed away from cardiac arrest after a period of declining health.
Tenyakova had been experiencing health issues earlier in the year, causing her to miss performances. She had hoped to return to the stage for a scheduled performance on June 26th at the Chekhov Moscow Art Theater, but unfortunately, her health did not allow it.
According to Honored Artist Andrei Davydov, Tenyakova had felt unwell for about a month but declined hospitalization. Sources indicate that she experienced a surge in blood pressure due to severe anxiety. Colleagues reported that this was the second such incident in recent days. While doctors were able to assist her during the first episode, she did not survive the second.
Actress Lada Sizonenko described Tenyakova as a “real spark” and expressed how easy it was to work with her.
Tenyakova would have celebrated her 81st birthday on July 3rd. She will be buried at the Troyekurovsky cemetery, with the date of the funeral to be announced later.
She is survived by her daughter, Daria Yurskaya, who will inherit her estate, including a country house near Noginsk, an apartment in Moscow, a vehicle, and works of art. The estimated value of the dacha is 30 million rubles, and the Moscow apartment is valued at 18 million rubles.
