Death of Maria Mordasova, Singer with Ministry of Internal Affairs Ensemble

Maria Mordasova, a singer with the Ministry of Internal Affairs ensemble “Songs and Dances – Gornitsa,” has died in Moscow. She passed away on May 21st due to complications arising from fractures and bruises.

Mordasova was hospitalized on May 19th after her condition worsened while staying with a friend. She had arrived at her friend’s house in mid-May with bruises, explaining she had to miss a performance because of them.

Upon examination, doctors diagnosed her with broken ribs, cerebral edema, and chest injuries.

According to reports, Mordasova told police officers in the hospital that she had been beaten and raped in her apartment in Shcherbinka a week prior to her hospitalization. She promised to provide more details later, but her condition deteriorated, and she passed away before she could do so.

The director of the ensemble, Nikolai Berezkin, confirmed Mordasova’s death but declined to comment on the alleged crime.

Mordasova had been involved with the ensemble since childhood and continued her work there after graduating from the Gnessin Music School. She also participated in charitable activities.

She is survived by her 11-year-old daughter, who is currently with her father.
