Three criminal cases have been opened in response to terrorist attacks that occurred in the Bryansk and Kursk regions, according to Alexander Bastrykin, head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
Bastrykin reported that passenger and freight trains were derailed, and civilians and road transport workers were killed or injured as a result of these attacks. The total number of injured individuals is 122, with seven fatalities.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation estimates that the total damage amounts to approximately one billion rubles.
Evidence collected indicates that all three terrorist attacks were organized by Ukrainian special services, said Bastrykin.
In the Bryansk region, the investigation found locations where three explosive devices had been planted on a bridge. The power of these devices was approximately 15 kg in TNT equivalent, and a LORA control unit of Ukrainian production was used.
During the terrorist attack on the railway in the Kursk region, five IEDs were detonated simultaneously.
A third terrorist attack occurred in the Bryansk region, between the Unecha and Zhecha stations, where two unexploded explosive devices were discovered.
Prior to these incidents, several regions of Russia experienced drone attacks targeting airfields in the Murmansk, Irkutsk, Ivanovo, Ryazan, and Amur regions. Explosions also occurred on bridges in the Kursk and Bryansk regions on the night of June 1, resulting in deaths and injuries.
