A criminal case has been initiated following an incident in St. Petersburg where a teenager on an electric scooter struck and injured a 79-year-old pensioner. The Investigative Department for the Frunzensky District is handling the case, which concerns the violation of safety regulations regarding transport operation.
The incident took place on Slavy Avenue, near Hamburg Square. National Guard officers discovered the injured pensioner, who had a broken face, and learned that he had been hit by a 17-year-old riding a rented electric scooter.
The elderly man was immediately hospitalized with a suspected closed head injury. The teenager involved was taken into police custody.
Currently, investigative actions are underway to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
