A woman in the Novosibirsk region has been sentenced to eight years in prison for assaulting an acquaintance who later died from her injuries. The Krasnozersky District Court reported that Yulia Skripnik was found guilty of intentional infliction of grievous bodily harm resulting in death by negligence.

The incident occurred on September 8, 2024, when Skripnik and the victim were intoxicated on the veranda of an apartment. A quarrel ensued, during which Skripnik slapped the victim and punched her multiple times.

The court stated that Skripnik then threw the victim from the sofa to the floor and kicked her in the head. She continued to beat the woman, dragging her outside and throwing her near the veranda.

During the assault, Skripnik repeatedly hit the victim’s head against the ground and kicked her in the head and body. In total, the court found that Skripnik inflicted at least 12 blows to the victim’s head and seven to her body.

The victim died in the hospital on September 12, 2024, as a result of her injuries. Skripnik pleaded guilty to the charges against her.

In addition to the prison sentence, the court ordered Skripnik to pay the victim’s family 55,600 rubles for material damages and 500,000 rubles for moral damages.
